I am a Swiss national with German as my mother tongue and English, French and Spanish as my working languages. After two years of studies in linguistics and translation in Switzerland, I am currently doing a Master's degree in Specialist Translation (Science and Technology) and Translation Technology at the University of Surrey, England.
Before taking up translation studies, I trained as a professional librarian and worked as a library manager in several specialised libraries, e.g. for psychiatric nursing/mental health care or for information engineering, which gave me the opportunity to accumulate deeper knowledge in several areas. Also, I am interested in web design and did courses in web development, HTML and JavaScript.
I have done translations in the fields of nursing/pharmacology (smoking cessation) and genetics. My main fields of interest are medicine (with all related sciences) and psychology, but I am also familiar with the automotive industry.
My main focus for translation lies on quality, functionality and style, but I can also deliver basic translations in short time. |
