"Member" is the term given to ProZ.com's paying users. A member "joins Proz.com" by paying a fee to receive a higher level of service for a certain period of time, and remains a member until his/her membership renewal date. Discounts are available for those renewing current memberships, TGBs (Translator Group Buying), and/or for those with a certain number of browniZ points.
