Source text - English To gain further insight, the present study was undertaken to investigate the impact of cranioplasty on indices of cerebral blood flow regulation and metabolism.
Thirteen patients in whom extensive craniectomies had been performed underwent a meticulous study of blood flow velocities in the middle cerebral artery (MCA) and extracranial internal carotid artery (ICA), as assessed by transcranial Doppler (TCD) ultrasonography during postural maneuvers (supine and sitting positions) and during stimulation with 1 g of acetazolamide for the interpretation of cerebrovascular reserve (CVR) capacity.

Source text - English The study, by researchers at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in Pennsylvania, highlights the importance of understanding the 3D geography of the genome in locating genes that cause disease. The team points out that identifying DNA variants, or differences, behind diseases, is not necessarily enough to locate the genes that cause the disease. The variants, for example, could be triggers of genes in other parts of the genome. In a paper that now features in the journal Nature Communications, the researchers describe how they probed the 3D geography of DNA in bone-forming cells to locate genes that might influence bone mineral density.

Translation - English On 22 April, there will be a global mobilization in over 500 cities to stand up for research and scientific approach based on verifiable facts and rationality. "My superpower is science", "Rise up for science!" "Yes to science and no to silence", "Science is experiment", "Liberty=truth"... These are all slogans ready to be inscribed on tee-shirts, billboards, and tracts. On 22 April, to commemorate Earth Day in over 500 cities across the world, researchers and citizens will take to the street to defend science. This movement began spontaneously with online discussions in the United States a few days after President Donald Trump was sworn in on 20 January. As the day of the event draws nearer, members of the whole scientific community are getting enthusiastic about it. In fact, on that spring Sunday, in the heart of the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, in front of the California Academy of Sciences where the natural history museum is located, a group of researchers will be drawing the attention of passers-by. Activists are actually beginners who hardly take to the streets, but decided to leave their laboratories because of Donald Trump's campaign and first decisions.
