Report from  Eddie R. Notowidigdo
Dear Prozians,

The Powwow in Jakarta, Indonesia, together with members of Bahtera (Yahoogroup) last Saturday was a great success. It was a happy occasion where over 100 people turned up, of which about 30 were Prozians.

It started at 8.30 am and lasted until 3 pm. Prozian Harry Hermawan gave a short introduction about ProZ for those who are not familiar with the organization. Maria Sundah did a brief presentation about HPI, the Association of Indonesian Translators, whereas Hikmat, Sugeng, Wiwit and Sofia Mansoor did an elaborate presentation and demo about Trados. Other interesting topics discussed were tax, Paypal and Moneybookers.

Food was available in abundance and the event provided an excellent opportunity for everybody to meet each other in person, and to match a name with a face. Four publishers/bookstores were present selling dictionaries and other books.

This Powwow coincided with the 10th anniversary of Bahtera, but as one of the members rightly mentioned, it was not merely an anniversary celebration but more than that, it was a “celebration of friendship and brotherhood”.

Hope to see you all again at the next Powwow.

Cheers,
Eddie R. Notowidigdo / 124234
