Can html codes etc. be changed to tags after receipt of a -sdlppx ?

Some times the source files have not been well prepared for traslation, and therefore do not appear as 'sdl-tags'. Am I right in assuming that they cannot be changed by the transltor?? - i.e.:
lorem ipsum.Lorem ipsum Loremipsum
They appear quite requently in the 5K file ...

Once an sdlxliff file (in this case part of the sdlppx-package) is created, its source content including tags cannot be changed anymore. In your case the file type settings would have to be changed during creation of the Trados Studio project before the file is added.

Two in fact and both on the SDL AppStore! You can use the "Cleanup Tasks" app, or you can use the "SDL Data Protection" app. I'd go for the latter... it's easier to use.

Thank you - but do these two apps not address another issue?

I tried the "CleanUp Tasks" app (which, for some weird reason, is called "CleanUp Source" after you've installed it, or perhaps I misunderstand how the feature works...).
With it, I was able to turn "tags" from an MS Word file into actual tags in Trados:
From the description and screenshots of SDL Data Protection it would appear that that app should do something similar, although it also anonymizes the file (not sure if you can use it without anonymizing).
Or... how does this differ from what you're trying to achieve?
Please note: I only tried this on an SDLXLIFF file that I created myself, and not on an SDLXLIFF file that was created as part of an SDLPPX forward package.

They address many things. Why don't you just try them and see?

Thank you for the explanation. I am afraid that I was just too impatient for it to work. I can see from your screen shots that it does the trick, and I will now that I have circumvented the problem the clumsiest of ways (to meet deadline), work with it to be prepared for the next occurrance - for there will be an next. Thank you again.
