Hello,
I'm currently in the process of translating a Scottish birth certificate. While I'm aware that I need to make a note of any logos/seals etc., I'm wondering whether I need to make any mention of the background/watermark of this particular document. For reference, please see the link below for an example of a Scottish birth certificate (not my client's of course):

Your doc is also of hystorical value and very well kept! It is dated 1887. Yes, I would describe the lines and relevant colour of the watermark in square brackets, as usual.

Local regulations may impose a specific approach. Apart from this, I always describe the documents with two objectives in mind. The first is to provide all unique features to make the translation accurate and precise. The other is to provide details sufficient to prevent (or minimise the chances of) falsification or substitution of the source document when combined with the translation.
