I think "siding" could be used here:
"Common sidings store stationary rolling stock, especially for loading and unloading. Industrial sidings go to factories, mines, quarries, wharves, warehouses, some of them are essentially links to industrial railways. Such sidings can sometimes be found at stations for public use; in American usage these are referred to as team tracks (after the use of teams of horses to pull wagons to and from them). Sidings may also hold maintenance of way equipment or other equipment, allowing trains to pass, or store helper engines between runs."

Björn & Polyglot: thanks for the explanation. So now we know what it is – a section of track set off from the main network – the question is what is it called in English? If there is a specialist English term for Abstellgleis (stabling track), is there also one for Einstellgleis? I wonder if it's "siding", although I suspect that refers only to passenger railways.

In any case, please see "Einstellgleise" in "Zugförderung" by Julius Alexander, V. G. et al (GoogleBooks). It talks about "50 Einstellgleise" in a "Schuppen," in contrast to "durchgehende Gleise" for trains to enter and exit the building. In my opinion, this must mean that Einstellgleis is a dead-end part of the track system or at least not part of the main tracks. That's why it says "Annahme- und Abfertigung..."

If you look for Abstellgleis, you'll find:
"Nicht als Abstellgleise gelten Bahnsteiggleise, an denen Züge zum Ein- und Ausstieg abgestellt werden, Ladegleise zum Be- und Entladen sowie Ausweich- und Überholgleise, auf denen ein Zug einen anderen abwartet."
