ProZ.com powwow: Excel for translators

Thank you for signing up and your interest in the forthcoming powwow.

Oliver Walter has (yet again) kindly volunteered to prepare a presentation: he is going to talk about "a few of the less obvious ways that Excel can be used by translators." This includes recording times spent and calculating translation speeds, hyperlinks to disk files and locations on the Web, maintaining bilingual glossaries, editing certain types of translation memories etc.

The presentation will kick off at 2pm and will be followed by a general discussion. Once everyone's knowledge about all things Excel has been satisfied, we can move on to more general networking and getting to know each other over few drinks. The event usually wraps up around 6pm.

You can have a copy of the spreadsheet that I used in the demonstration if you send me an email via my profile. I have added a few comments in the cells to make it more understandable.
