ProZ.com powwow: Autumn Drinks in Bar Hemma

October 1, 2015, 8:30 pm
United KingdomEdinburghIn personEnglish
Hi folks

Yes, it's that time of year again - time for the Edinburgh Translators' autumn drinks meetup in Bar Hemma on Holyrood Road in Edinburgh.

This is a great opportunity to meet fellow translators, have a drink, swap stories and generally have a good time. Further details about the venue can be found here:

http://www.bodabar.com/hemma/

Please sign up below asap if you plan on joining us. And as ever, PLEASE remember to change your attendance status to 'Yes', 'No' or 'Maybe' in the right hand column in the attendance section below, right after you sign up. (You do this by logging on to Proz, visiting the PowWow page and clicking on the little black arrows in the table opposite your name). This is extremely helpful to me and Ely (my co-organizer) for providing accurate numbers to the venue.

Thanks so much, and see you soon!

Julian

Dear fellow interpreters! I am an Edinburgh-educated translator, interpreter and Interpreting Studies scholar, usually based in Istanbul, Turkey. I am currently in Edinburgh to carry out research into the use of telephone interpreting in healthcare settings. With the collaboration of Prof. Claudia Angelelli of Heriot-Watt University and the support of the new Interpretation and Translation Service at NHS Lothian, on the afternoon of Friday 2nd June I will be running a focus group on the subject of healthcare interpreting, and I am looking for volunteer participants who have experience of healthcare interpreting both face-to-face and over-the-phone. If you would like to help me with my research and enjoy an interesting discussion with other interpreters, as well as delicious refreshments from Turkey (!), please complete the mini survey at the link below:
