Translation - English When should this preparation not be used?
Do not use this medication if you are in your last trimester of pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Do not use this medication if you are allergic to one of the medication’s components or to Diclofenac.
Do not use this medication if you had a previous allergic reaction to other medications used to treat pain, fever or inflammation, such as: Diclofenac, Ibuprofen or acetylsalicylic acid (a substance used to prevent the formation of blood clots). Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: asthma, wheezing during breathing, skin rash, facial swelling, runny nose.

If previous use of NSAIDs or other analgesics resulted in serious side effects.
If you are taking other analgesics or anti-inflammatory drugs, including acetylsalicylic acid or Aspirin, corticosteroids, blood thinners or SSRI drugs (see section entitled “Drug Interactions”).
If you suffer from polyps in the nose or connective tissue diseases, if you take diuretics, if you are over 60 years of age.
How will this medication affect your daily functioning?
In rare cases use of this medication may cause disturbances in vision, dizziness, and drowsiness. If you experience any of these effects, you must refrain from driving a vehicle, operating dangerous machinery, and from any activity requiring alertness. You must promptly inform your physician if you experience any of these effects.
Children must take caution when riding a bicycle or playing in the proximity of a road, etc.
Do not consume wine or alcoholic beverages for the duration of treatment with this medication.

For women only:
The safety of Capecitabine, Oxaliplatin and 5-FU+LV during pregnancy is unknown. Women of fertile age must undergo a pregnancy test with a negative result within 14 days before taken the first dose of the research drug. The pregnancy test will be repeated in any event that menstruation is late or irregular.
If you become pregnant during this research, you should inform the research physician immediately. The research physician will inform you about the possible risks for the fetus and the prospects for your pregnancy and the possibilities you have, including abortion. If you decide to continue with the pregnancy, the administration of the research drugs will be permanently terminated due to the potential risks to the fetus. You will be monitored during your pregnancy, and your baby will be monitored following the birth. 4. The anticipated benefit for the participant
Thanks to the treatment that you will receive during the research, there is a potential reduced risk that the cancer will return. Notwithstanding, you may not benefit from your participation in the research. Your participation in the research may assist future patients through the attainment of important information regarding XELOX as a drug for the treatment of colon cancer.
5. Risks and Discomfort
The research procedures and treatments involve risks and might cause discomfort. There is the risk of mild pain during the blood tests required for the research, and you might suffer from side effects resulting from the medication.
The side effects observed until now in relation to Capecitabine are:
Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, mouth sores, stomachache, pruritus, peeling and/or pain of the skin of hands and feet (hand and foot syndrome), skin swelling or redness, and fatigue.
Moreover, irregular results might appear in the laboratory tests. The irregular results reported until now are: decrease of the number of blood cells that combat infection, blood clotting and increase in bilirubin (liver function test).
One or a number of the following problems have occasionally been observed in patients treated with Capecitabine:
Changes in taste, chest pains, heart disorders such as angina, heart attacks, and changes in heart rate, fever, abnormal sensations in the skin, headache, dizziness, insomnia, appetite loss, unusual drowsiness, weakness, decrease in body fluid volume, and hair loss.
The side effects observed until now in relation to Oxaliplatin are:
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, feeling of stinging or unusual sensation or numbness in feet and palms, especially when exposed to cold, as well as unusual numbness in the mouth or throat, which may cause difficulty in swallowing. The mentioned numbness may worsen when drinking cold water or other cold beverages.
Moreover, irregular results may appear in the laboratory tests. The irregular results reported until now are: decrease of the number of blood cells, which may pose a risk of infection to you, bleeding or abrasions, and a rise in the number of liver enzymes.
Oxaliplatin might cause even rarer side effects:
Mouth sores, hair loss, temporary deafness, kidney dysfunction, decreased reflexes, skin rash, fever, fainting, breathing problems, severe allergic reaction and swelling and redness, from light to moderate degrees, in the place where the ampoule of Oxaliplatin is infused into the vein.
The side effects observed until now in relation to the 5-FU treatment are:
Nausea, vomiting, mouth sores, diarrhea, stomach ache, fatigue, appetite loss, hair loss, skin swelling and redness, fever, dizziness.
Moreover, irregular results may appear in your laboratory tests. The irregular results reported until today are: decrease of the number of blood cells, which may pose a risk of infection to you, bleeding or abrasions, bleeding or abrasions.

Warning concerning other drugs taken jointly with the drugs administered in the research
Capecitabine and 5-FU may create a reaction to other drugs, such as blood thinners such as Warfarin and Phenprocoumon, and the anti epileptic medication named Phenytoin. It is very important to report to the research physician if you must take any of the aforementioned medications. Some anti viral medications (Brivudine and Sorivudine) may cause an increase in the levels of Capecitabine and 5-FU in the blood; it is very important to report to the research physician if you have been prescribed any of the aforementioned medications. In addition, during the research it is forbidden to take laxatives without consulting the research physician. It is also forbidden to take Vitamin B6 together with Oxaliplatin – this may harm the effectiveness of Oxaliplatin. The Capecitabine that you will receive during the research will not be packaged in childproof containers. You must keep all the drugs out of the reach of children.

המדע מכיר כיום מעל ל-110 יסודות שונים, וכל החומרים שבעולמנו בנויים מיסודות אלה. חלקם הקטן משמש בחיי היומיום כיסודות טהורים כגון חמצן (באמבולנסים ובבתי חולים), כספית (במד טמפרטורה) או טונגסטן (בחוט להט של נורה). מרבית היסודות משמשים בחיי היומיום כמרכיבים של תערובות או בעיקר של תרכובות.
תערובת - מספר חומרים המעורבבים ביניהם ביחסי כמויות הניתנות לשינוי.
בתערובת, כל מרכיב שומר על תכונותיו, ותכונות התערובת הן סך כל תכונות מרכיביו.
לימונדה היא דוגמא לתערובת. היא נוזלית (כמו המים), חמצמצה (מהלימון) וגם מתוקה (מהסוכר). ניתן להכין את התערובת לימונדה עם יותר לימון או פחות לימון וגם שתהיה יותר מתוקה או פחות מתוקה. כאמור, אין יחס כמויות מוגדר ומחייב.

Translation - English Scientific Background
Science currently recognizes over 110 different elements, and all the matter in our world is comprised of these elements. A small portion of them is used as pure elements in day-to-day life, such as oxygen (in ambulances and hospitals), mercury (in thermometers), or tungsten (the filament in a light bulb). Most of the elements are used in daily life as a component of a mixture or the main element of a compound.
Mixture- A number of materials mixed together in variable proportions. In a mixture, each component maintains its own qualities, and the qualities of the mixture are the sum of the qualities of its components.
Lemonade is an example of a mixture. It is a liquid (like the water), tangy (from the lemon) and also sweet (from the sugar). A lemonade mixture can be prepared with more lemon or less lemon, as with the sugar. As previously stated, the ratio of quantities is not predefined and obligatory.
Compound- A number of substances that together create new matter. The ratio of the component quantities is fixed.
Being new matter, all the qualities of the components are not preserved and usually, new qualities that none of the components previously possessed are obtained.
An example of a compound is water. The oxygen and hydrogen comprising water are gases, where one is flammable and the other participates in combustion. In contrast, water is a liquid that extinguishes combustion.
When two metals are melted, mixed together, and cooled, a new solid called an alloy is obtained.
An alloy is neither exclusively a mixture, nor a compound. For example, a soldering iron used to solder electronics is an alloy of tin and lead. The melting point of tin is 232˚C and lead is 327˚C. In contrast, the soldering iron alloy already melts at temperatures ranging from 150˚C-200˚C. We can therefore see that with regards to melting temperatures, the qualities of the components are not preserved, and the alloy behaves like a compound in this regard.
However, there is a soldering iron (called 60/40) that contains 60% tin and 40% lead, and there is another type that contains 40% tin and 60% lead (called 40/60). The former is more pliable and melts at a slightly lower temperature than the latter, which is less pliable. According to these qualities, their uses also differ: for delicate soldering where it is important not to reach high temperatures, a 60/40 soldering iron is used, whereas a 40/60 soldering iron is used for soldering wires where the strength of the connection is important and the wires are not sensitive to a relatively high temperature. We can see that regarding the quantity ratios of the components, this alloy behaves more like a mixture.
Since an alloy behaves like neither a mixture nor a compound in all cases, it is given the special name alloy.
