In an advertising brochure, a luxury hotel will use language conducive to lure clients to the attractiveness of a place, an instant, a celebration or a leisure activity.

In a legal set of submissions, the arguments will be factual and strategically set out to show the client's position, situation and means or lack of means in regards to his/her adversary/ies.

In a judgment, the facts will speak for themselves and the decision will be clear cut and final, or not.

In a real estate management committee's annual report, the technical facts will be set out for the co-owners' examination and the headings of the tables of figures will explain the committee's priorities.

Every topic and clientele has its angle, its views, its strategy, and its adapted vocabulary.

The art of translating a text properly is to provide its author with the nuance and latitude he/she requires to inform the reader or the listener pertinently, precisely and clearly of his/her meanings.

When that happens, the translator can be satisfied with his/her work. The closest possible meaning is the best one obtained if the exact word equivalence cannot be found in the target language.
