Another Cambridge resident to attend Jul 28, 2003

Hello, my name is Manuel Serrano and live in Cambridge.
My translation fields of interest are medicine and literature. As this will be my first powwow, I am glad it is happening so near the place I live. I can vouch for the Fort St George pub being a very well chosen location, so I look forward to meeting you there.

My name is Brigid James and I am currently trying to 'break into' translation, so I will hopefully be there to glean as much info as possible.

Ready to powwow! Jul 31, 2003

The forecast for Saturday is fine and dry with sunny periods and it looks as though we can expect between 19 and 25 people.

For those who can, please do your best to arrive at about 12 noon; - we are not paying for the venue and it is not reasonable (nor practicable) for the management to reserve the space for us unless we make a reasonably prompt appearance.

I am offering a taxi service from Cambridge station to the Fort St. George at 11-30 for up to four people, provided that at least one person confirms to me that they would like to take advantage of it; look out for a dark blue car with a ProZ sign on the windscreen.

Henry and Co. are promising (or threatening?) that preferential treatment will increasingly be given on ProZ.com to members whose ID has been verified. Verification at a Powwow is the only free way of doing it; remember to bring a photo ID (passport etc.) if you’re interested.

Bon Voyage, especially to those who are travelling any distance.

Russell

Can't make it Aug 1, 2003

I don't think I'll be there this time. Sorry not to see the Fort st George again, perhaps we could have one in Dorset (Or Bristol?) as that is where several of us live. In Oct./Nov.? Have a great day.

ID Verification Aug 2, 2003

Great to see so many fellow translators today.
Before I register the ID Verifications, you may like to see the following paragraph from my instructions on the process:
"Changing your ProZ.com username, or modifying the first, middle or last name in your ProZ.com profile in any way, will result in your "verified
status" being revoked. If this happens, you may write to the person who verified your identity to ask that they verify it again".
