What translation project are you working on right now?
In these two days I have done more metadata preparation after data mining - several amended Rules and Decisions of Croatian and Serbian health authorities had to be registered. Also, I have translated a manual for a car battery charger, a promotional message, a small Samsung marketing text, edited a MiVue platform/app manual, and completed my today wit a wood pellet label translation.
Aside the data mining I do regularly, the past days have been mostly dedicated to smaller but numerous translation/editing projects, a Volvo automotive warranty conditions, chemical patent claims, editing of a major sports watch brand manual, a short EU Directive excerpt translation, invitation to participate in a contest for a online game prize, promotional piece with a prize draw for a popular app for remote booking parking spaces, and a few more of short marketing and technical texts.
In the past couple of days I have completed a backtranslation validation of a medical questionnaire, marketing material and a small manual for spine surgery instruments (retractor handles, blades, extension equipment), pharmaceutical/medical device/health legislation metadata preparation from the information mined in the previous week, and a tax authority letter replying the taxable person with details on how over-border VAT processing works.
The past three days were mostly the usual data mining and health/pharma website monitoring, and automotive mechanical texts involving recall instructions, workshop servicing/repair procedures, electronics servicing manual, diagnostic steps, and truck workshop manual; otherwise, there was also a manual for cohlear implant accessories for small children/waring of audio processor on one's clothing, a rather difficult tax authority reply to the taxable person regarding a VAT issue, and a NMEC (National Ethics Commitee) opinion letter approving a clinical trial to wrap up this busy week. I still have some minor projects for the weekend and lots and lots of invoicing work :)
Again, I can hardly find the time to post here - in the past days (since the last Wednesday), I was working intensely on the SmPC data mining project for a platform which will help pharmaceutical companies to greatly simplify (unfortunately for us, translators:P) the production of future SmPCs in all languages, I have been also working on the large automotive/mechanical project, translated and edited a few smaller SmpC/PIL redline updates, translated a cochlear impant cleaning instructions, and also catered for 5 other minor projects. Aside testing my new tractor at the weekend house - with the amount of servicing manuals I did, I theoretically already now to service it ;)
Monday: oral linguistic assessment with a call to an applicant in Romania, data mining; Tuesday: marketing brochure for various EC, BLDC, and BL motors, data mining health-care, pharmaceutical, and medical device website, and some more data mining from SmPCs for an online pharmaceutical data organization platform, Wednesday: more data mining / website monitoring for an old and a new client, and I still have more left for tomorrow. I omitted a small but fun Ora marketing job, a small medical job, and a few other small documents.
In the weekend I was translating a PHD dissertation abstract on Badiou's event theory, and today I completed a redline update of SmPC/PIL for a pulmonary arterial hypertension medicine, a short report on femor endoprothesis effectiveness study, as well a marketing text for new HP printers.
I am not since I was being a bit overbooked, not that I am resting :) I will try to do it at least once every second day to keep my list of fresh refs alive. So, it has been three days with a lot of website monitoring for new health-regulator documents and extracting data from them, I have translated various small projects and documents from the medical, medical device, technical, and marketing fields, and among the larger were a financial translation from Bulgarian to English (yes, I cover all South-East Europe languages at least occasionally) - a VAT refund decision of the Bulgarian tax office, an office app user interface update, a complex medical report proofreading (mostly nephrological terms), a warranty message for Volvo (automotive), and I also have gotten into the HR waters with a HR speech subtitle translation and a new series of linguistic testing of potential employees abroad, for their level of Slovenian language.
(edited) It was a very busy day with various different smaller projects completed, including the usual medical metadata organizing for Tarius, a subtitle translation of a speech for HR development plan at a large lift manufacturer's, a small SmPC/PIL update, an concret-paint mixer manual update, and a short medical questionnaire update.
Today I have completed a brand name check for a list of 41 potential pharmaceutical names, translated a short add-on on a femur elevator device documentation package, and I am continuing to work on the large mechanical project.
Just continue working on the large automotive mechanical project, currently the TSB servicing manual with instructions for the servicing workshop. I have also managed to coordinate two Arabic to Slovenian court certified projects successfully.
Today I completed a manual for an wearable cable connector accessory for a cochlear implant (medical device) I worked on yesterday, and a graphical user interface for a radiological imaging device. Also, yesterday I completed about 3 hours of SmPC/PIL updates for two different medicinal products, as well as a short financial translation from Croatian to English (communication between client and the tax office).
Yesterday I finished 2 small QRD udpate revisions, a regular update for Tribal Wars game, as well as an update of a cochlear implant (hearing aid) manual, and today I finished a set of medical notes and reports for a hemorrhagic stroke patient (cardiology and emergency findings, laboratory results, physician opinion, CT and neurological report). I have also continued to work on the automotive/mechanical project I mentioned yesterday.
Currently I am working on an extensive automotive mechanical project to update the diagnostic, servicing, accounting, and maintenance softwares including instructions for recal, workshop processes, testing car/truck electronics, and to extract works descriptions to appear on the invoice. Otherwise, I have completed my regular metadata gathering (regulatory data mining) session and a medical Patient Outcome Event Report (including a discharge reports, cours of treatment description, neurological examination report with laboratory and diagnostic test findings, diagnoses, and course of therapy descriptions with relevant instructions for the patient.
Back from holidays in our weekend house in the woods. I did some linguistic work too in between, just forgot to post it. For example, a medical translation and harmonization of the Bristol Stool Chart, some pickup labels and documents for a major European carrier company, a couple of affidavits as attachments for a public tender project I did earlier in March, a choice of machinery interface commands (without context) to accompany earlier large project for machines for sorting medicinal products/packaging, a revision of a badly translated medical report, and my regular weekly data mining session.
Today (and yesterday) I have completed translating a SeaHub navigation networking application into English, and 2 manuals to Slovenian language for 2 models of power bench grinder tools.
Finished my metadata mining session today, along with taxi booking service application user interface (UI), and that Decision of the Administration for Food Safety, Veterinary and Plant Protection on a plant protection product registration approval I mentioned yesterday. Off to the liberation front holiday, what is left of it!
Today I completed a pair of similar wireless hedge trimmer manuals, a SmPC/PIL redline update, and am still working on a Decision of marketing authorization for a plant protection product from Slovenian to English, hope to complete this one tomorrow.. Also, I completed a short medical questionnaire project that has been in works for a while now.
For yesterday (I keep missing a day in posting here), I have translated 3 small power tool battery manuals and a working spotlight LED manual, 3 patent translation test revisions and quality assessment, a small update for Suunto watch manual, and another small technical translation.
Yesterday I completed managing a medical questionnaire translation with 2 translation, 1 backtranslation, cognitive debriefing and 2 proofreading stages to wrap up this 2 month project. I also did some metadata gathering and abstract writing, a small truck software manual update, a wireless angle grinder manual, and most importantly - I have taken off my broken ankle cast, I am free as a bird again! The broken foot experience will give my medical translation pursuits a brand new dimension - I had to auto-inject a medicinal product I once helped translating the SmPC and PIL for!
Just completed two wireless power tool manuals - for a circular saw and a jig saw, both battery based with laser generator. Also, today I have got up early and finished a small SmPC redline update review and the DHL return instructions for a prepaid product return plan for a major device manufacturer.
Completed triplet user manuals for a wireless drill, wireless impact wrench, and wireless impact screwdriver. They were related, so plenty of fuzzy matches and repetitions, but new products for Slovenian market nevertheless.
Yesterday was a busy day as well, I have finished a report on a foreign financial company from data I mined online and I finished an Automotive SDP messages collection (highly technical error messages for monitoring correct performance of an motorbike app platform.
Oh, I almost forgot the little automotive/manufacturing data sheet / part pricelist of a supplier of various cams, fixures, frames, and other welded materials. German to English this one.
Operation instructions for femur elevator and retractor kit (medical devices, surgical instruments for femur/hip surgery), full of highly technical surgical terminology. I also completed a couple of smaller projects - part of motorbike-smartphone app UI and a part of a truck servicing manual update. A lovely and productive day it was!
Among a few other smaller automotive and medical tasks, I completed another backtranslation of a SmPC and PIL redline update for semantic quality checking. The medicinal product is for HPA treatment in PKU and BH4-deficient patients.
Just completed a translation of a manual for a tomography module of the intensive care ventilator for the virtual display of thorax and lung movement based on electricity impedance distribution. This is and add-on for the medical device the documentation for which I have been localizing for some time now.
(edited) Completed an urgent second instance Decision on VAT refund, and learned a few new things about our VAT system.
Translating a new manual for an advanced intensive care ventilator of a renown German producer, about 9000 words, but some are fuzzy matches.
Currently working on two medical backtranslations (SL-EN) of about 10.000 word, of SmPCs with a lengthy clinical trial description and the accompanying PILs. Yesterday I also completed my weekly data mining search for new information and legislative demands for the industries of medicinal product and medical device manufacturers, wholesalers/distributors.
In March, completed Unilin flooring website localization; a few HP brochures, several Power Tool manuals, SmPC redline updates, a COS HR materials, an infusion pump application testing project, several medical manuals, and various other interesting pharmaceutical, technical, and creative projects! I resolve to be adding my completed projects here regularily in future! :)
