However, relatively little has traditionally been written about the role of interpreters in depositions and how these proceedings actually work. As a full time freelance translator who has been in the industry for over eight years, I would like to talk about working as a translator of one of the rare languages has taught me, most of which is the immense challenge!
This topic will try to talk about the challenges that agencies and translators face in the translation industry. The challenges will be described from three perspectives:
- agencies
- translators
- language resources
The cases of Amharic, my native language, Nuer, Oromo and Tigrinya, the three other Ethiopian languages resource, and a few other languages such as Somali & Afrikaans will be used a lot in the talk.
