Thermodynamik

Non-PRO Deutsch > Englisch Naturwissenschaften Physik Thermodynamics
Die Thermodynamik verbindet damit die Größen Energie, Wärme, geleistete Arbeit, Temperatur, Druck und Volumen etc.

My question is whether it should be 'thermodynamics connects' or thermodynamics connect'? Does the s actually indicate a plural or is it meant as an abbreviation of science of thermodynamics or something like that?

Right! That makes sense.
Lancashireman Nov 28, 2012:
Although... ... it can be a plural noun when used in the sense of 'thermodynamic properties' http://tinyurl.com/cyd45qx
Likewise with 'aerodynamics'.

The science of thermodynamics thus connects..

Just a suggestion. But yes, I would say that "Thermodynamics" is a single entity and should be treated as singular rather than plural.

Thermodynamics

If the word used is a noun, then it is "thermodynamics"

If it is an adjective, the in will be singular "thermodynamic"

EXAMPLES:

I am studying the topic of thermodynamics.

I under stand the project will involve the study of thermodynamic properties.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: I WOULD USE "CONNECT"

THERMODYNAMICS = A COLLECTIVE NOUN
