What\'s with Eurodicautom, seems like its new (public) version, displayed in purplish or blue, is no more than a shadow of its former self: e.g., fewer responses to terminology queries, simplified, unpractical Interface. Is it just me, or is this true. Was there an official reason stated for this.

It is a disaster! Mar 17, 2002

I was a huge user of Eurodicautom in the past, but since they modified their interface I have been using it less and less. It has become virtually useless: you cannot filter terms by subject, etc, as you used to, the list of terms returned appears in a \"collapsed\" format, so you have to click each entry to read it instead of having all of them before your eyes as in the past, and anyway 90% (or even 100%) of them are worthless because they are unrelated to the subject you are interested in. Also, it is true, there are far fewer responses.

Is there any plausible reason for this? Is it possible to complain?

try this.... Mar 17, 2002

On the main page, make sure that you have the \"all fields\" button checked at the right, otherwise you only get a list. With \"all fields\" you see the subject, definition, reference and translation.

After the first HitList is returned, you can click on any of the Extend Query buttons to ask it to search for more hits containing the term you are interested in.

In any case, you might want to check out the guide at http://europa.eu.int/eurodicautom/guide.jsp.

Hope it helps,

Thanx, Cindy! Mar 18, 2002

This is more like it! At least I get the whole list now.

However, I\'ll have to use it to see how it works; I still have the feeling that it is clunkier than it used to be. Apparently the filter options have indeed been eliminated (couldn\'t find them yet at least ).

By the way, the link you gave didn\'t work for me, but I still got the guide by clicking \"
