Perhaps "understandable art therapy," but that doesn't make much sense to me.

Further investigation required It seems to me that to arrive at a meaningful title, the book itself may first need to be looked at and explained at in some depth, as "verstehende Kusttherapie" is not clear as it stands; it is figurative, since the therapy itself cannot understand anything. Titles are often designed to arouse curiosity and invite further reading. That seems to be the case here.

Verstehend means understanding, but you shouldn't normally need to translate book titles.

agree Ramey Rieger (X) : Dilthey's catchword is 'lived experience', which is impossible to integrate in the title. Interpretive is a good solution.

You don't solve this at the literal level. In this type of art therapy, interpretation or gaining intellectual insight seems to be at the forefront. Could have picked a different adjective but this is what my sources suggested.
