Source text - Catalan Santa Maria d’Arties
L’església de Santa Maria d’Arties presenta una planta basilical de tres naus, capçades originàriament per tres absis, dels quals avui dia només es conserven els laterals. La nau central està coberta amb una volta de canó de mig punt i les laterals, amb voltes de quart de cercle, reforçades per arcs torals.
Conserva dues portalades d’accés a l’església situades a les naus laterals. La portalada que s’obre a la façana nord no té timpà però presenta sis arcs de mig punt adovellats i en degradació, amb motius decoratius com l’escacat i els botons semiesfèrics. La porta que dóna al sud, i que comunica amb el cementiri, està configurada a partir de tres arcs de mig punt en degradació sense cap tipus d’ornamentació.
Translation - English Santa Maria d’Arties
The church of Santa Maria d’Arties displays a basilica style plan consisting of three naves, originally finishing at three apses of which only the lateral ones remain today. The central nave is crowned by tunnel vaults, and the lateral ones by quadrant vaults reinforced by transverse ribs.
Two porches still remain at the lateral naves. The one that opens towards the north façade has no tympanum, but it features six recessed round arches with arch stones, adorned with chequered patterns and semi-spherical buttons. The south porch, leading to the cemetery, consists of three recessed round arches with no decoration.
