Source text - Turkish ‘Mute’, müzik enstrümanlarıyla, gümüşün beraber tasarlandığı takılardan oluşan bir proje.
Proje üzerinde çalışmaya başlama fikri bundan birkaç sene önce İstanbul, Beyoğlu’nda müzik aletlerinin bolca bulunduğu Tünel’de ortaya çıktı. Yaylı müzik aletlerinin tamiri konusunda uzman ‘luthier’ Rıfat Türen’in dükkanındaki müzik aletleri parçaları bu proje için ilham kaynağı oldu da denebilir.
Özellikle abanoz ağacından yapılmış viyolonsel burguları ile keman eşikleri kullanılarak başlayan çalışmalar, her geçen gün keşfedilen yeni enstrüman parçalarıyla büyüyerek, 1 sene içinde geniş bir koleksiyon haline geldi.
Luca, gitar, viyolonsel, keman gibi yaylı enstrümanların eşik, burgu gibi parçalarını gümüşle birleştiren takılardan oluşan bu koleksiyon ile 2011’de hem Türkiye’de hem de yurtdışında sergiler vermek için hazırlanıyor.
Translation - English “Mute” is a jewellery project designed by Luca that combines musical instruments and silver.
The idea was conceived a few years ago in the heart of Istanbul, in a part of Beyoglu known as Tünel, an area abundant with musical instrument shops. The spare parts in one of these shops, namely that of Rifat Türen, a luthier specializing in repairing and restoring bowed string instruments, were the inspiration for this project.
Cello pegs made of ebony and violin bridges were used in the first samples. New suitable parts were discovered every day and in the course of one year, a sizeable collection was born.
Luca is now getting ready to take this collection on the road in 2011, with stops in Turkey and abroad. The collection is a vast array of jewellery combining guitar, cello and violin spare parts with silver.
