They believe it to be harmful to mental sanity or even a kind of traffic with Satan. Such fears are groundless. O asemenea atitudine, din fericire, a devenit mai puţin sigură pe sine decât atunci când am început aceste studii şi experimente, cu nu mai puţin de treizeci de ani în urmă.

Oriunde şi oricând are ocazia, ştiinţa testează toate aspectele vieţii. Misticismul întâmpină această parte a atitudinii ştiinţifice. Nu se teme de nimic în urma unei asemenea verificări practice. Dar există aici şi o altă faţetă. Niciun om de ştiinţă nu o poate testa în laborator. Trebuie să o testeze pe propria sa persoană, de-a lungul unei lungi perioade de timp.
Datorită vastei ignoranţe asupra acestui aspect, există persoane care sunt deranjate de diferite temeri faţă de meditaţie. O consideră dăunătoare sănătăţii mentale sau chiar un pact cu Diavolul. Aceste temeri sunt nefondate. Meditaţia a fost dată de către Dumnezeu omului pentru binele său spiritual nu pentru distrugerea sa.
Ar însemna să nu-mi fac datoria faţă de cei mai puţin norocoşi, dacă din teama de a fi considerat un lăudăros nu aş afirma că cercetările mele m-au condus spre o anume descoperire a sufletului…
