Dear JCPS Families,
This most unusual school year is about to wrap up May 27th.
With just two days of Non-Traditional Instruction remaining, the 17,000 employees of Jefferson County Public Schools want to thank you for the resilience and understanding you and your child have shown the past ten weeks.
The way our JCPS family has come together has been gratifying although, as many teachers and school staff have said repeatedly, “we miss our kids.”
Let’s all hope we can get back to some version of “normal” next school year. Here are some updates to share with you:
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL – Wednesday, May 27th.
BELONGINGS PICKUP – Families have begun picking up their students’ belongings which were left in lockers or classrooms when schools shuttered in March.
Your child’s school staff will contact you with details on a date and time you can pick up your child’s books, clothes, musical instruments or other personal items.
VIRTUAL GRADUATIONS – Virtual graduation ceremonies will be livestreamed on JCPS’ YouTube Channel.
The first two are Central High School and the Binet School this afternoon. Here’s a full schedule.
MEAL DISTRIBUTION – Today, JCPS Nutrition Services delivered its one millionth meal to a child since schools and their cafeterias closed March 13th.
JCPS is now serving breakfast and lunch to more than 10,000 children each day at the 60+ Emergency Food Sites.
Here's a video of a special event marking the 1,000,000th meal delivered. JCPS will continue the feeding program through the summer.
Food sites will be closed Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day.
SCHOLARSHIP CHECKS – The highlight of our week was surprising four exceptional JCPS seniors with college scholarship awards.
JCPS employees contributed more than $80,000 to the scholarship fund and Superintendent Dr. Marty Pollio presented the extra large checks to the recipients on Wednesday. Here’s the feel-good video and story.
NTI SURVEY – Don’t forget to let us know about your NTI experience. There are surveys for you and your child to fill out here. Surveys will also be available at the Emergency Food Sites next week.

गैर-पारम्परिक निर्देशनको दुई दिन मात्र बाँकी हुँदा, जेफरसन काउन्टी पब्लिक स्कुलले 17,000 कर्मचारीहरूलाईं लचिलोपन र तपाईं र तपाईंको बच्चाले विगत 10 हप्तामा देखाएको समझदारीको लागि धन्यबाद दिन चाहन्छ ।
हाम्रो JCPS परिवार एकसाथ आएको यो तरिका सन्तोषजनक छ यद्यपि, धेरै शिक्षक र स्कूलका कर्मचारीहरूले "हामीले हाम्रा बच्चाहरूलाई सम्झिरहेका छौं" भनेर पटक-पटक भनेका छन् ।

JCPS ले अब 60+ वटा आपतकालीन फूड साइटहरुमा 10,000 जना भन्दा बढि बच्चाहरुलाई बिहानको खाजा र खाजा वितरण गरिरहेको छ ।
यहाँ 1,000,000 वटा वितरण गरिएको खानाको एक विशेष कार्यक्रमको भिडियो छ । JCPS ले ग्रीष्मकालीन अवधिभरि पोषण कार्यक्रम जारी राख्नेछ ।
