Welsh term

Prydain

Welsh Art/Literary Linguistics Phonetics
I am trying to find either a sound file (.mp3 or .wav format) in order to be able to hear how "Prydain" is pronounced, and whether it was pronounced in a different manner in the past.

I have found the following info:

from the Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander (Henry Holt, 1999).(Alexander is clever about names: Prydain‹pronounced Pridd-ine, not Pride-ane‹is the actual Welsh name for Britain.)

Prydain was the much later "Welsh" as in The Mabinogion. It was derived from the Greek Pretanoi*** ... which the Romans changed (as most invaders do) the name to Brittaniarum. Prydain or Prettyn is the "P" Celtic version of "Cruthainn" and it is almost certain the Cruithne WERE the Picts of legend )

****Pytheas, the first Greek to record a visit to the British Isles, called them Pretannikai nésoi— the islands of the Pretanoi. Pretanoi, later Bretanoi...

However, I am getting somewhat confused, as several friends insist the word is pronounced "Prid(e)-ane".

Could someone tell me the correct way to pronounce it?
