pulled through the tank

English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering fin molding line
"After the pre-lube has completed, the system automatically extends the pre-lube for several strokes in order to allow time for ****stick that has been pulled through the lube tank ****to reach the die when running continuous"

..maybe this is a stupid question but I cannot make sense of this, could you help me with a synonym?

pulled through the tank, what else could it be?

That seems about the clearest part of the sentence to me.
After the completion of preliminary lubrication, the system automatically continues the process for several more strokes in order to allow time for the rod (seems more likely than stick, but depends on context) which has been pulled through the lubricant tank to reach the die during continuous operation.
