sambesøk

Context: coaching/training in sales. Here are two examples taken from the internet:

I finally decided on "ride-along sales call", which is also referred to as a "ride-along" in the sales training world. Thanks for all your input!

coaching call

Been there, had it done to me. :-)
First link is Google results for sales + "coaching call". See the second link at page 3 for this:
"To that end, we make a distinction between joint calls and coaching calls.
"In a joint call, the coach (sales manager) has a defined role in the call—perhaps he or she is presenting some material or has the responsibility for a portion of the call. While some coaching may occur as a result of the call, the purpose of the call is to jointly move the sales process forward. Too often, what starts out to be a coaching call gets derailed because the sales manager jumps in to “save” the call or the client changes the dynamics by directing everything to the sales manager. In a coaching call, however, the coach’s role is purely as an observer. Further, the coach, sales person, and the customer understand these arrangements and will typically respond accordingly."

neutral Per Bergvall : Would have liked to agree, but your arguments seem to fit a conclusion of joint call rather than coaching call. Also, for us Euros, a call is done using a phone.

I thought of "joint call" but the context of an outside coaching firm moved me away from that. And I had no idea that "call" in this sense was an Americanism. Thanks!
