He can add numbers up to 9 using the touchpoints.
I can imagine what they are, but can't think of a word in Spanish. Any suggestions?

Touchpoint Math/puntos de contacto
This method offers a way to teach school math to children of various capacities for learning mathematics. Its method uses the touch-point system, where the numbers from 1 to 9 are represented by a sequence of numbers with points attached to it in accordance with its value and which is touched as many times as needed.

touchpoints [puntos de toque]
Probably it'd be better leave it untranslated as “touchpoints” with quotes or italics.

Seems like this is not generally translated, nowadays, being a pretty current nomenclature.
Perhaps, “puntos de toque” or “puntos de control” would comunicate. Unless there is some computing term in used, unbeknownst to me.
Good luck!
