I think 'parents' implies children, but people who have pets and give them care live longer, too. Here is my agree for "ayant des enfants à charge."

It's pretty clear, really; it doesn't necessarily mean that they look after the children for longer, but that they enjoy a longer life, i.e. perhaps not so worn out by having brought up their family!

disagree Tony M : I'm afraid that doesn't seem to me to render the sense of the EN text here. Surely it's about their 'durée de vie'? / 'care-giving' is an adj. describing parents, it's not 'care-giving by parents'

It is clearly stated "of care giving" and not simply "longer lives". Not sure however that it actually implies longer lives, though it may.
