Just for context: The trade tax in Germany varies from town to town, and can be as high as 20% of income. On top of this come some other taxes, such as VAT (it used to be 16 %, but it was raised to 18% recently, I'm not sure about that because I don't live in Germany any more), and that is of added value, which is higher than income) and income tax ( at least if you're self-employed, I don't know about corporations). So basically, at the moment you are higher than 38 %. |
