Deutsch Begriff oder Satz: Sublizenz
I am translating a contract between a patent holder who is giving these rights to someone else in a licence. If the licensee then gives these rights to one of its subsidiaries this is called a Sublizenz - would this be a sublicence in English?

Englisch Übersetzung:sublicence (BE-noun) sublicense (AE-noun) sublicense (AE/preferredBE-verb)
Erklärung:
My Hamblock/Wessels also shows all four forms without a hyphen (including the verb sublicense), as does Eichborn. NODE, the ultimate, all-time, absolute, indisputable source-of-all-sources doesn't show any of them, with or without, nor does Webster.

Romain show three of the four with a hyphen:

sub-licence (noun)

sub-licensee

sub-licensor

AltaVista returns 30,700 hits for sublicense and only 3,200 for sub-license but for 544 for sub-licence compared to 171 for sublicence. This strange correlation for verbs and nouns is probably brought about by the confusion caused by the AE/BE verb spelling difference.

Looks like Romain is out in the cold, nearly all alone, except for his hyphens and a few AltaVista hits. HTH Dan
