"The tax basis
All economic compensation earned in connection with activities as an artist in Norway is taxable here. This also applies to benefits in kind. Any payments covering expenses must be included in the tax basis, apart from payments covering documented travel expenses, board and lodging expenses and any agent’s commission in connection with the event in Norway. If the artist pays for the travel, board and lodging expenses, the tax basis is reduced by the total sum of documented expenses. "

Tax withholding on benefits/payments in kind

Skatteetaten has chosen to translate thus: "Trekkpl. naturalytelser for arbeid i utlandet -
Payments in kind for work performed abroad subject to tax withholding". Also: "Please note that taxable part of allowances and payments in kind are subject to tax withholding."

Thanks for your gracious comments, Bill. Isn't that a good link? I plan to lift a lot for my own glossaries.
