This is from a description of the requirements of a theatre group for the performance of a play.
I know that the basic meaning here is "stands or benches", more or less, but I have a small query, which is: what's the difference between "gradas" and "alzas"? Thanks for your help in advance. UK Eng please! Cheers.

Like in a football ground, where the lower part is the "stand" (curiously enough, usually with seating). The terraces are the higher sections where the crowd (ahem) stand, and benches are usually for the teams.

If you find "terraces" won't work for your theatre (presumably its indoors), you could use "raised seating" or similar to indicate the height gradation cited.

IN FACT: looking at it again, I'd have no qualms about translating "gradas, alzas o bancos " as "seating" or maybe "seating facilities" or similar..., you could add "of different heights" if you think it's necessary.

: I'd go with stands or benches - we don't even have terraces in fitba any more // So you do - even at the Mestalla? Well I'm still agreeing with stands and benches because I think the distinction between the two types is in the source and needs to stay.
