I agree with first answer, in this context, it is not "remedy" but relief... the petitioner is asking the court to grant the relief requested.

relief = reparación solicitada a los tribunales o concedida por éstos, amparo; desagravio, reparación, compesación, satisfacción.... El termino relief o equitable relief se refiere normalmente a los remedios o soluciones de equidad concedidos por los tribunales, tales com inunction, specific performance, rescission, etc., y no se aplica por lo general a la indemnizacion de tipo económico. (this is the definition given by Alcaraz Varo)

If it is interchangeable with "recurso" than "remedy" is the term you´re looking for. If not than I would suggest relief.
