Ausgangstext - Deutsch Aikidō ist eine betont defensive moderne japanische Kampfkunst. Sie wurde Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts von Ueshiba Morihei als Synthese unterschiedlicher Budō-Disziplinen entwickelt, insbesondere aus dem Daitō-Ryū Aiki-Jūjutsu. Einen Kampfkünstler, der sich im Aikidō übt, bezeichnet man als Aikidōka.
Ziel des Aikidōs ist es, die Kraft des gegnerischen Angriffs abzuleiten und den Gegner mit derselben Kraft vorübergehend angriffsunfähig zu machen.
