I got this translation memory from a customer of mine, but it was created with an higher version of Trados (8). I'd like to know how to convert this tmx file into a usable tmw file.
Thanks for your support,
Franzi

Import function

Hello Franzi,
you should create a new TM and then import the .tmx file, just as if you would do with an exported TM in .txt format.
Hope this helps

TMX -> TWB or the opposite?

¿Do you need to convert a tmx to twb file? ¿Or just the opposite?
As far as I know, you do not need to do anything to convert it. Just import the TMX memory with the _Import option_ to the TWB memory and save it as a TWB memory format (tmw). Thats all. Take in acount that they ares 4 tmx format versions, so some formatting may be lost.

While we wait...

While we wait for a better answer from the experts, it would be advisable to ask your client for a .txt TM. Any .txt TM can be imported into your Trados-Workbench version.
