Summary:Learn the ropes of VRI for DUAL-LANGUAGE interpreters [not ASL] (1 of 2). VRI is a service that connects human interpreters live in real time to individuals who do not speak a common language, both parties using a computer video. Learn to communicate with the other parties using real-time video; analyze message and convey accurately and fast meaning-by-meaning instead of word-by-word. Learn the ins and outs of the profession, including practice materials and learn to follow professional codes of conduct and standards of practice for remote interpreting using video equipment.
Description
Guidelines with specific action plans to become a dual-language video remote interpreter (VRI). This webinar provides basic knowledge, understanding and guided practice to start developing your talents as a bilingual remote video interpreter or to consolidate your understanding and abilities if you are a dialogue VRI already. You will learn specifics about the profession and the environment in which it is practiced, the profile and the skills needed. Special attention is given to achieving the highest level of professionalism in the rendering of dialogue VRI services. Actual practice is encouraged in different aspects such as video etiquette, performing before the camera; customer service and technical troubleshooting.

Language: This well designed and interesting workspace is language-neutral with content delivered in English and appropriate for any language pair.
