OmegaT does not recognise ANY files

I just downloaded OmegaT for the first time yesterday. When clicking on "Open" it goes into the folders of my computer, but it does not show any files whatsoever. I have many .ODT files that it should show.
What should I do? Uninstall and reinstall? Contact them?

From what you say, I can't tell if you have actually created a new project.
No, you don't need to reinstall anything.

Create a new project first Sep 14, 2018

As Susan hints, if you haven't created a project first, all you will see with "Open" are the folders of your computer. Once you have created some projects, "Open" will show you existing projects (in addition to folders).

I have many .ODT files that it should show.

Not with "Open". It will only show folders and OmegaT projects (which are folders, too).

What should I do?

Did you read Learn to use OmegaT in 5 minutes!

Uninstall and reinstall?

In the case of OmegaT, it nearly never solves anything.

Contact them?

Okay, I figured it out. I was watching a tutorial video how to use it, but what happened onscreen was different from what happened with my OmegaT, so I did not realise what I have to do. The video tutorial is a few years old and uses an older version. I finally figured out I have to type in the name of the new project
