I wonder if it would be possible to search Proz member companies by location--not just country, but (for large countries at least, like the U.S.A.), by a smaller region. It is sometimes said in forum discussions that good working relations between translator and client can more easily be established if there is some face-to-face contact, rather than just by Internet. I, for example, would be interested in knowing what companies (and translators) are located in the Washington, D.C. metro area. But there seems to be no way to find out.

Advanced directory

Hi Susan,
You could try to use the advanced directory, typing in i.e. project management or sales. It lets you add state and I think city as well. If not you could use Google and specify state to delimit. I live in the DC area myself, and have a couple of names if you like =)
