How to check out the multiple sdlxliff files

Hi experts,

I have created a project by combining 5 sdlxliff files translated separately. I have opened them by using "Open multiple files" feature but I am unable to save the edits made by me. In fact, the "Save" is disabled. Similarly, the "Confirm" is disabled.

This is written on top of the multiple files: Check out required. To modify this document, you must check it out.

I tried to search for the method to check out but in vain. Could someone please tell me what exactly is wrong and how to fix it?

Are you working with Trados GroupShare Projects?
The only "Check out" option I know it's the one that applies to server-based projects.
