Thank you for this article. The math is surprising. Of the 1,8 million pages translated, 700.000 were translated by external contractors. That means that a page translated by external contractors costs on avarage 31.42 euro, while a page translated internally costs almost 110 euro... Very interesting))

The citizens of the EU are entitled to access information in their own language. That costs money but it is money well spent. Those who adovate everything being in English (or French) for general consumption by non-native speakers are linguistically ignorant.

Yes, Cristina, you are right, but as far as I know, most of the pages translated by external contractors are reviewed by the internal translators...

I think 110 euros a page is too much. I would just use external translators and save money (probably we would have less taxes)!
