Dutch term

tenzij opgeworpen bezwaren opgaan

Dutch to English Law/Patents Law (general) vonnis, familierecht
"...unless raised objections are raised" ???

Lijkt me een beetje dubbel...

So, I gather they're basically saying (in plain English) that the discrepancy in policy X doesn't preclude establishing another policy that both reflects the intentions of the originally agreed visitation policy and is in the best interest of the child, permitted there are no further objections raised beyond those already presented/raised by the mother (i.e. de vrouw).

Do I have this right or am I missing something?

Discussion

Lianne van de Ven Jul 13, 2010:
Opwerpen is not the same as opgaan Opwerpen means "raise"
Opgaan means (Van Dale): in alle delen juist zijn
hyperoniem: overeenkomen
synoniem(en): kloppen, uitkomen
context: die vergelijking gaat niet op
philgoddard Jul 13, 2010:
I think opwerpen and opgaan mean the same thing in this context. It looks like a mistake to me.

(such)...unless the raised objections apply

You are pretty close except for at the end. Additional regulations can in , unless the objections she raised apply/are found valid (it doesn't state it as such, though)

...can in principle be agreed upon (previous agreements don't preclude that), unless...

Note: in the source it says "DE door de vrouw opgeworpen bezwaren", en niet 'just generally' bezwaren. This implies she raised objections against the fact, probably, that the other party wants new regulations, against which she raised (specific) opbjections.

neutral philgoddard : I don't understand "additional regulations can in" - have you left out a word or something?

Yes, the words that I added in the note were accidentally omitted.
agree Barend van Zadelhoff : opgaan = juist zijn = hold true, are true, apply
