Oesophagus
Hello,
Can someone help please? I am looking to translate 'rima orale' in the following context: 'Hiato diaframmatico a 43 cm dalla rima orale, cardias a 40 cm'. It is a medical report into American English and this part is to do with the oesophagus. I've come up with 'oral opening' but I'm not sure it is this.
Many thanks in advance

buccal orifice
I'm not a medical translator, but I think your suggestion "oral opening" could be confused with an "oral fissure" or tear (http://www.medilexicon.com/medicaldictionary.php?t=62748)

upper incisors
In an English medical text, the location of cardia and hiatus would be stated as distance from upper incisors (or front teeth).
