XX tried to overcome this by offering a "High-spec" XYZ (HI), but this high-spec package only includes AUX2, porportional AUX, auto-shift and direct to tank switch.

Discussion
"The somewhat older XYZ is also a ZTS machine but without ZHS design, the
XYZ is only available in one arm-conterweight configuration, offers less features and is positioned between “rental-spec” and “end-user spec”."
Das "this" ist wohl ganz schlicht die etwas schlechtere Ausstattung von XYZ gegenüber dem Wettbewerbsmodell.
Das wäre dann ein Schalter oder Taster, der das/die Ventil/e für den direkten Weg zum Hydrauliktank aktiviert.
Es könnte aber auch etwas völlig anderes ein,
Kontext haben wir ja leider nicht bekommen. Z. B. hätte man erklären können, was das "this" in "tried to overcome this" meint, oder was "XYZ" ist.
