Deutsch Begriff oder Satz: Klettergang
I'm translating a summary of tests done on a series of shifting system groupsets. At the end of each summary there is a list of puncy conclusions. One of them has the word "Klettergang" with very little context.

+ Relativ geringes Gewicht
+ Robust, ordentlich verarbeitet
- Kein kleiner Klettergang

+ Relatively low weight
+ Robust, neatly crafted
- Kein kleiner Klettergang

The only context I have is that in describing the downsides in complete prose, the report said the following:

Die Bandbreite (420 Prozent) ist dafür nicht überragend, vielen Touren- und AM-Bikern wird zudem der kleinste Gang mit 30:42 zu dick sein. Zumal an die [XX]-Kurbel kein kleines 28er- Kettenblatt passt.

The gear range (420 percent) doesn't stand out, and many touring and AM bikers will be too heavy for lowest gear with a 30:42 ratio. Most significantly, the small 28T chainring won't fit the [XX] crank.

How should I translate "Klettergang" here?

Englisch Übersetzung:No low gear for climbing
Erklärung:
It's talking about the low(est) gear that gets a cyclist up a steep hill, i.e. allows them to "climb" up the hill on the bike. Not sure about the exact term, but the suggestion should get the point across.

Also, that example phrase of yours has a mistake. The German version is not talking about fat bikers, but about the features of the gear system.

Fragesteller: Thank you! Sounds like I'd better make another post for "zu dick".

Zustimmung  philgoddard: Yes. I agree that "dick" doesn't mean "fat", but I'm not sure what it does mean.
