Appears in a document classifying defects in mechanically woven fabrics. The fabrics are produced for industrial use in sieves, filters, sound dampening, etc.

Context: The document describes "Schussziese" as follows: "Offene Maschen in Schussrichtung, welche nicht über die ganze Breite gehen. Oft in den Randzonen vorhanden. Entsteht durch Kontakt mit Breithalter oder mangelhaftem Fachschluss."

I am prepared to translate it as "Weft gap" based on the context but I wanted to check whether anybody is aware of a proper textile industry term. "Ziese" doesn't show up in any of the technical dictionaries I consulted.
