Spanish term

por la firma

Spanish to English Medical Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs Authorization
This is a drug import permit from Argentina.
Se remiten los presentes actuados para su intervención en la faz de su competencia, informando que esta Dirección ya ha intervenido y aprueba lo solicitado por la firma en [Document name]
I'm trying to find a way to translate "lo solicitado por la firma" but I would love some help with my sentence in general.
Here's my try:
These proceedings are submitted for your intervention within your remit, reporting that this Directorate has already intervened and approves the request "by the signatory in"/"per the signature in"?

Discussion

Robert Carter Mar 2, 2021:
I think so too, but that doesn't necessarily mean this part of the document is specifically addressing the company. In my experience, these documents generally go through two or three departments, each of which has something to add, until the department in charge of dealing with the applicant specifically sends the whole thing back to the applicant. The part we're dealing with here seems to be an intergovernmental communication. Perhaps Lina could settle this?
philgoddard Mar 1, 2021:
I think we have to take what Lina says at face value. And she says it's being sent to the applicant.
Robert Carter Mar 1, 2021:
@Phil Given the wording (para su intervención en la faz de su competencia ...esta Dirección ya ha intervenido), I doubt this document is addressed to the applicant. It looks to me like one government department speaking to another government department.
philgoddard Mar 1, 2021:
"Los presentes actuados para su intervención en la faz de su competencia" and "ya ha intervenido y" add nothing to the sentence.
philgoddard Mar 1, 2021:
Thanks. I would take out all the verbiage, insert something of the kind you'd expect to see in an English document, and add a translator's note explaining why. How about "We confirm that the directorate has approved your application reference..."?
Lina Villegas (asker) Mar 1, 2021:
The document name is just a number that I removed. It is sent by the directorate to the applicant, a company.
Lina Villegas (asker) Mar 1, 2021:
I've been looking at similar documents and I think they mean the company that made the request, as Robert suggested.
philgoddard Mar 1, 2021:
Lina I'll have a go at the whole sentence (it's very wordy, and needs to be translated much less literally), but could you confirm that the letter is being sent by the directorate to the applicant? What is "document name"? And what is your understanding of "firma" - does it mean signature, or company?

I'd imagine it means the firm who applied for the permit.

Thanks, Katarina.
neutral philgoddard : I think this is the literal meaning, but you wouldn't say "the firm" in this context, you'd say "you".

No, because they're not talking to the firm itself, they're talking to another government dept. by the look of things. In any case, I was hoping to give the asker an alternate interpretation to that of "signatory/signature." Thanks, Phil.
agree Nelson Soares : I'd say the same.
