ProZ.com powwow: Language PicNic : bring your kids along

28/09/2013, right between the European Language Day (26) and Saint Hieronimus (30), patron of all translators...
We could not miss the opportunity, but actually this get-together was not planned because of these special days, at all. Mere coincidence...

Quinta do Queijão : our favourite and quiet spot between peaceful woods and vineyards...
________________________
This is the second time the writer Annegret Heinold will invite us for a picnic in her fabulous "Quinta do Queijão", located near São Pedro du Sul, somewhere in the mountains between Aveiro and Viseu, and that's an opportunity we sure won't want to miss !
On the other hand, it will be an excellent way for her and everyone else to know a bit better the eventual other translators and linguists and expats and simply language lovers scattered and hidden here and there between the trees :-)
Besides the pic-nic itself, we can go for a walk in the woods and have coffee at some other special place, somewhere in the vicinity.
This will be a very special day.
Loads of fun in sight !
See you there !
Please note:
This is a community picnic, everyone brings one or two of his/her own self-made edible and/or drinkable speciality to share with everyone else.
PS : The get-together will take place at someone's very home, in her lovely garden. By respect for her privacy, more details about where it is exactly and how to get there etc... will be sent by e-mail to those registering for the Powwow, only.
PS 2 : for those registered with ProZ and (especially) for the others, please register and tell us something about yourself via the following online form : https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1UWaaX31ckIt_YQ_-k34-LEJD5krSMuTdgGCL7CFt09E/viewform .
We will publish, as time goes by, some statistics about what kind of person is going, big or small, young or old, and talking which language (see in the comments below).

a mix of food and drinks of the world... a little bit of everything...
Sep 20, 2013
Although it might be interesting to have a "salade niçoise" tasting session with a variety of different ways to do it, let's try to avoid that everyone at the same time brings a "salade niçoise" , so maybe it would be a good idea that we write what we plan to bring along in the "comments" field above.

Ah, but this "food and drinks of the world" does not mean whatever you bring along must be extremely exotic or original. Plain old and good recipies of whatever you usually do for yourself at home are perfectly ok.
Ah, also, don't bring too much food, just about the quantity you would eat yourself, or just a bit more to make it shareable with everyone else. We would not like to have too much leftovers to get wasted afterwards, if there is too much of everything.
Bis dann ! / Até já ! / See you there ! / À bientôt ! ▲ Collapse

About the weather forecasts... well... let's hope they will get better than the current "somehow cloudy, some rain now and then, some Sun now and then too"... But the place is prepared for a warm and cosy and nice atmosphere anyway, even if it gets really lousy out there, so for the time being there is no plan to cancel the "picnic", that might turn into an "inside-home picnic" in the worst case, which can be cool too
