Having grown up speaking both English and German, I am perfectly bilingual in both languages, have a solid knowledge of Spanish and Italian, and a good basic knowledge of French and Dutch.

I have certificates from official language schools and/or institutions in both Spain (DELE Básico and Don Quijote language school) and Italy (Università per Stranieri di Perugia).

In 2006 I was awarded the German Diplom (equivalent to MA) in translation from the University of Mainz, Germany. During my studies I specialised in the field of medicine, and have done freelance work in this field for nearly 10 years now.

Prior to my studies in translation I completed a course offered by St. Mary's College of London to become a TESOL teacher, and have been teaching English and recently also German language courses to individuals as well as groups. I have also taught Business English classes (correspondence, vocabulary, etc.)

In Feburary 2010 I graduated from the International School of Management, Dortmund, Germany, with a Bachelor's degree in Tourism and Event Management.

I was also authorised to translate and certify official documents at the German courts in the province of North-Rhine Westphalia at the beginning of 2010.

Although my special interest definitely lies in the medical field, I have translated an array of different types of texts, including for example official documents from different official authorities, website texts from hotels, businesses etc. I have also translated contracts / working agreements, as well as insurance papers and policies.

I have never missed a deadline and go about my work conscientiously, and am very open to constructive criticism, tips and tricks.
