A London based freelance translator with vast experience in the medical field, market research and various other areas.
German is my mother tongue and I mainly translate from and into English. I hold a translation degree in English and French from renowned Heidelberg University in Germany, where I completed four years of studies with excellent marks. Still at uni, I specialised in medical translation (EN>DE, DE>EN, and FR>DE) and received high-quality training, which included attending courses and taking exams at Heidelberg’s famous medical faculty.
Also, I am a publicly appointed and sworn translator for German<>English translations, which means that I am legally authorised to offer certified translations
(official title: “Öffentlich bestellte und beeidigte Urkundenübersetzerin der englischen Sprache für Baden-Württemberg”).
Since 2005, I have worked as a freelance translator for a number of companies, including market research companies, an international hotel chain, and global translation agencies serving major pharmaceutical companies.
Being a believer in lifelong learning, I took a 5-month Harvard course to deepen my understanding of my clients' industry. I successfully completed and received a passing grade in "Fundamentals of Clinical Trials" from Harvard University.
As a person, I am reliable, focused, and versatile. Working with me is fun because I'm a great communicator and work flexible hours.
Having worked as a full-time translation project manager in a multicultural environment, I know that cultural awareness and top translations go hand in hand.
