Ausgangstext - Deutsch Frühling in Salzburg: Vom Trapp-Mythos bis zu Kleopatras Geschichte
Ein neues Tanzfestival, erlesene Gaumenfreuden und eine große Sonderschau auf den Spuren der weltberühmten Familie Trapp sind die ersten Frühlingsboten in der UNESCO-Weltkulturerbestadt Salzburg. Die Pfingstfestspiele stehen unter der musikalischen Leitung der italienischen Star-Mezzosopranistin Cecilia Bartoli, die das Programm der sagenumwobenen Gestalt der ägyptischen Königin Kleopatra widmet.
Das Salzburg Museum zeigt in den Räumlichkeiten des Panorama Museums bis Herbst 2012 die Sonderschau „Die Trapp Familie – Mythos und Realität“, die dazu einlädt, sich auf die realen Spuren der Familie Trapp zu begeben und in die Hintergründe einer bis heute faszinierenden Lebensgeschichte einzutauchen. Zu sehen gibt’s Originalobjekte, Hörproben, Musical-Mitschnitte, Interviews und Fotos. Zudem präsentiert die Ausstellung einen Einblick in den Mythos „Sound of music“, der von der Film- und Unterhaltungsindustrie geprägt, zu einem wichtigen Wirtschaftsfaktor wurde: Rund eine Milliarde Menschen weltweit haben den Film gesehen, und an die 300.000 Sound of Music-Fans pilgern jährlich nach Salzburg, um die Drehorte und Lebensstationen der Familie Trapp zu besichtigen. Die Musical-Neuproduktion
mit Uwe Kröger als Baron von Trapp läuft derzeit mit großem Erfolg im Salzburger Landestheater.

UNESCO's World Heritage Site will have something for everyone this spring: a contemporary dance festival, a celebration of culinary delights and an elaborate special exhibition on the renowned von Trapp family will give a taste of things to come; the Salzburg Whitsun Festival, with Italian star mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli as its new artistic director, will focus on Cleopatra, the mythical Egyptian queen.
The Salzburg Museum will present the special exhibition The Trapp Family - Reality and “Sound of Music” at the Salzburg Panorama Museum where it will be on display until the autumn of 2012. The show invites visitors to delve into the amazing real life story of the von Trapp family. Numerous original objects, audio samples, live musical recordings, interviews and photos will be on display. Apart from that, the show also demystifies the myth created by the film- and entertainment industry, which turned the film The Sound of Music into an economically highly successful venture: Over one billion people have seen the movie worldwide and every year 300,000 Sound of Music lovers travel to Salzburg to visit the movie locations and the places where the von Trapp family had lived. A hugely successful new production of the musical is currently staged at the Salzburger Landestheater, starring Uwe Kroeger as Captain von Trapp.
