I am the chairman of the Department of Modern Languages, Philosophy & Classics at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI (USA). I hold a Ph.D. in Classical Languages from Brown University and advanced degrees from the universities at Konstanz and Tübingen (Germany). I have grown up speaking German, taught and translated both Italian and German since 1997 and have published several books on ancient themes that have required extensive translation into English.
Regarding professional translations, I have worked as a freelance translator for Fleet bank translating German documents regarding retirement benefits (German), various universities and public policy institutions translating surveys (Italian and German) and a multitude of individuals and organizations translating genealogical records (Italian and German).
