I have about seven years of work experience as a full-time translator. I translated a comprehensive university textbook on botany that was successful in the USA and recognised by several renowned organisations in both the USA and the UK (including Science, NSTA, and the National History Museum, London).
I have translated academic and scientific articles and presentations, and have worked for universities and botanical gardens in both Germany and North America.
My professional background is in basic research (and includes three years in molecular laboratories) with a focus on molecular biology and crop breeding. I hold an additional degree – and have teaching experience – in Higher Education (chemistry and biology), too.
I grew up with German, Danish, and English, have lived and worked both in the UK and in the USA, and am now based in Berlin.
